After being in the mother/baby unit at Northpark, I completed an outpatient course called Baby Love and it was an amazing course. In this course we learnt about the circle of security which I still use today when interacting with Grace and Emma.
What this program teaches you and there are other programs available, so you need to google, is that children continually move around the circle and they are at different stages with their needs. Emma is extremely expressive in where she is on the circle and now I know when she wants to be independent and not needing me and when she wants me to share her experiences with her.
Look for programs near you as I do recommend them as it does help with your bond as well as your interactions.
